As it stands, each competitor should have played in six tournies. However, thanks to the odd influx of doubles and triples (and even a quadruple…ay ay ay), each competitor should average around sixteen or seventeen matches. Blanka has a staggering count of 28 valid matches, while Dee Jay is stuck at zero. Here’s a ranking for matches played:

The equation I listed beside Dee Jay is how to figure out the chances of somebody not being picked to play yet. You’re looking at a percentage well below one percent. For once, all twelve matches counted individually despite the double Cammy. T Hawk is at the top of the charts and has now won two tournies in three tries. Lastly, I was not paying attention to the season records, otherwise I would have avoided picking Ken’s rather weak record. Chun Li has been absent for a while too.

Hawk’s record starting to average out. Ryu’s lack of playing time gives him a rather weak first place standing. Vega needs a meltdown to fall into the bottom half of the standings. Vega has never finished above or below the .666 winning percentage after a tourney. Ken wins his fifth tourney in merely seven appearances. 153 matches have now been played. 15 matches have not counted thanks to clones. Three characters made their last appearance in the tournament they won.

If you rule out Dee Jay, each contestant should have around twenty matches played. The odds of Dee Jay STILL not playing after fifteen tournaments is now in the MILLIONTHS place.

Despite there being fourteen tournaments so far and sixteen characters in this video game, there are only seven characters who have been crowned champion.

Ryu has won three tournaments even though he has only played in four tournaments.

Blanka has not won a tournament despite having appeared in nine tournaments and having clones on multiple occasions.

Cammy has the worst winning percentage for anybody who has won a tournament to date. Even though she won this round, her record was 3-3. We’re nearing the point where it is going to take multiple tournaments/mass clones for there to be any major changes in the standings. Blanka’s lead for matches played and Dee Jay’s lead for least matches played is ridiculously big. Dee Jay only needs one win to get himself above dead last in the standings.

Cammy wins in her second appearance in a row. She is the only player to have a sub-par record but still have at least one title, let alone two. Dee Jay is three losses away from tying the record for most losses in a row. Dhalsim has the two longest streaks with nine and ten losses. Although Ken’s record being 2-1 this tournament, he only dropped his winning percentage by one percent. Blanka finally misses out on participating in a tournament after four consecutive appearances.

As you can see below, Bison has not appeared in the past ten tournaments. After Dee Jay did not appear in the first fourteen tournaments, he has now appeared in two of the past five. Bison has four additional absences on the closest trailing him (Balrog).

Cammy nearly averages four matches per tournament, meaning when she appears in a tournament, she almost always has a clone. Ken and Balrog are in the same boat. Bison and Sagat are the only two contestants remaining who have not had a clone in a tournament.

Vega falls below the .666 mark for once. Blanka is the first to hit fifty matches. Sagat gets some critical playing time. Now that Blanka has played so many matches, a breakdown of his matches against specific characters would have some substance to it.

T Hawk came back and has made yet another finals appearance. Bison is at the .666 mark thanks to another successful appearance after being dormant for quite some time. Fifteen contestants are in the eighteen to fifty match range…Dee Jay is stuck at seven. Dee Jay needs to appear in at least six tournaments with a clone if he wants to make it to the norm.

After Sagat’s clone in the previous tournament, Bison is now the only character left to not have a double in a tourney.

Believe it or not, this is Vega’s first tournament win. His sparkling winning percentage, and the fact he has made it to the finals numerous times, puts Vega in a great position to topple the leaderboard.

This marks the second time a contestant has fought its clone for the championship. Dee Jay has several chances to get out of sixteenth place and overthrow Dhalsim at the bottom of the standings.

Dee Jay, Guile, Balrog, Dhalsim, and Fei Long continue to search for their first title.

The top five in the standings currently hold a reasonable cushion in the standings.

Blanka wins for a third time, but he’s needed fifty-nine matches in seventeen tournaments to pull it off. Chun Li marks the first .500 record after the completion of a tourney.

One more tournament for Cammy and she’ll have her Vs. chart posted.

I spotted my Zangief mistake in terms of matches played after his previous tournament. That has been corrected.

Blanka, Ken, and Ryu have won three tournaments. However, Blanka is only sixth in the standings.

Bison, Cammy, T Hawk, and Zangief have won two tournaments. Cammy is the lowest of the group with being merely eleventh in the standings.

Vega, Guile, Chun Li, Sagat, and E Honda have won one tournament. Guile is the lowest with being twelfth, and Vega has been around the 3rd and 4th place mark for virtually the entire series.

Dee Jay, Fei Long, Dee Jay, and Balrog have not won any tournaments. The standings make sense of this because they round out 13th-16th in the standings.

Ken picks up his first title in eleven tournaments; he now has twice as many titles as the next closest contestant. Chun Li maintains her .500 record. Dhalsim falls down to last place, but the fight between him and DJ is very close for dead last.

After twenty-five tournaments, all sixteen contestants have had a clone AT LEAST once. Several have fought themselves multiple times.

Chun Li and her clone engaged in a rare match of using up all one hundred seconds on the timer.

Dee Jay was indeed a huge victim of tournament freezings. However, now that the matches he played before the tournament froze are factored in, he has leapfrogged into a position of cracking top ten in the overall standings. He also is very close to the next lowest in matches played.

Ken went 3-0 in his frozen matches, giving him an unofficial tournament win. He has Ryu in the crosshairs to overtake first place in the overall standings.

Also, Ken had TWO perfect scores! On top of that, he killed Guile with 86 seconds left on the timer. Crazy, I know.

Ken wins the “I Killed It!” award and Dee Jay is awarded the “Slowly but Surely” award.

E Honda wins the “Frozen Failure” prize with what looks to be six losses in this mess.

Ken has won in half of his tournament appearances. Cammy continues her climb up the standings. Blanka is once again given a clone but doesn’t have a title to show for it. Balrog’s winning percentage slightly increases.

Cammy has reached the 50 match barrier. The next post will contain her match-up chart. There is the possibility of having to do three match-up charts after the next tournament. Blanka’s and Ken’s match-up charts have included at least one bout with every character. Will Cammy follow this path?

Balrog and Guile finally won a match against Ken.

An astounding ten matches have been played against Ken. Cammy’s record is well below 500, but yet has found great success against Guile. She has several cases of having played only one match against a contestant, or in the case of DJ, zero matches.

I can’t wait to post Dhalsim’s chart. Tournament twenty-seven will commence shortly.

Ken becomes the first contestant to win three tournaments in a row. He also bagged a 4-0 record this go-around. If Ryu falters at all (or rather, if Ryu returns) then Ken will be at the top of the standings for at least a couple of rounds.

Not much else to say this time other than Ken is on a tear. I thought Fei Long had a shot at winning his first title, but evidently that was not to be.

Lastly, I find myself get somewhat excited to see a Ken vs. T Hawk match. I don’t know why.

Cammy becomes the fourth character to pick up three championships. In a span of tournaments 24-27, every contestant had competed at least once. Blanka’s clone widens his lead for matches played. Once a contestant has played eighty matches I will put up another chart for them. The highest ranked contestant to play in tournament 28 was T Hawk. In fact, nobody from the top three OR the bottom three participated this tourney.

Last note: I’ll be shocked if I don’t have to post AT LEAST one chart after the next tournament.

Blanka has twenty tournament appearances under his belt. Cammy is threatening to tie Ken’s record for most tournaments won in a row. Once again, the top three in the standings can rest peacefully. Oddly enough, Fei Long’s winning percentage stays at .342 with so few matches played and not having a fixed .333 .500 or .666 record.

E Honda has reached the fifty match milestone. His chart won’t be too impressive.

Will tournament thirty finally change things around in terms of tournament combatants, or will we be treated to the usual Blankas, Cammys, and then everyone else rotates. We’ll find out soon enough.

Cammy and Ken are the only two competitors with four or more titles.

E Honda’s chart:

As expected, nearly 20% of his matches have been against Blanka. Perhaps the reason why his record isn’t the greatest is because he’s had the opportune chance of facing Dhalsim only once. The most surprising thing about this chart is the frequency of matches against Chun Li, which covers more than twenty percent of her matches over a period of twenty-nine tournaments.

His worst record in the chart is 0-3 against Ryu.

As you’ll see at the bottom, the Hall of Champions has been reduced to six lines instead of twenty-nine. It was simply getting too big for a single post.

After six tournaments in a row of Ken and Cammy splitting the victories, the chain is FINALLY broken. Although neither of them were even selected to participate this time, at least there’s motivation to proceed with this ridiculous simulation of SF tournaments.

Fei Long broke the 50 match barrier, and now that he just got beat by Chun Li in back to back rounds, I have a feeling his record against Chun Li won’t be impressive.

DJ played in back-to-back tournaments! He is tied with Ryu in last place for matches played. Who knows, maybe he can get into eleventh or twelfth for matches played by the time I get tired of doing this.

Fei Long’s chart:

Balrog 1-0
Bison
Blanka 3-8
Cammy 3-1
Chun Li 0-4
Dhalsim 2-2
DJ 2-0
E Honda 2-3
Guile 0-1
Ken 2-3
Ryu 0-1
Sagat 2-1
T Hawk 1-1
Vega 0-3
Zangief 1-4

TOTAL: 19-32.

Over 20% of his matches have been against Blanka.
Somehow has not yet fought Bison.
Only has a record above .500 against three characters.
Overall, he hasn’t done so well. At least it’s better than Dhalsim.

DJ appeared in back-to-back tournaments. He has now climbed his way back into having a competitive number of matches.
Ryu makes his first appearance in eight tournaments. Four tournament wins in seven tries ain’t bad.
Fei Long still sucks against Chun Li. And thank goodness we had eight different contestants this tourney.

The Drought Pile: DJ, Balrog, Fei Long, Dhalsim. None of them have won yet.

Fei Long beat the toughest competition possible to claim his first title of the series.
Ryu’s overall winning percentage dropped down a bit, leaving Ken open to claim the top spot.
Balrog is 5 ½ matches behind Guile to overtake him in the standings. Perhaps the most noticeable gap.
The middle of the standings switched around a bit thanks to Fei Long’s victory, Cammy’s continuing climb on the rise, and Guile’s and Sagat’s inability to do well as of late.

The Drought Pile: DJ, Balrog, Dhalsim. Likely won’t be out of this category anytime soon.

P.S. How is this topic still alive?

OMG: For the first time since tournament X, we have a new leader in the standings. Ryu’s mere average gameplay has let Ken claim #1 while doing nothing on the bench for the past few rounds.

Blanka’s insane frequency of being in these tournaments shows in this tournament. He claims his fourth trophy after playing in 23 separate tournaments and 85 matches. After 50 matches, he had a .580 winning percentage. He has maintained that by being at .576 right now. Not only is he consistently picked, but he also wins at a consistent pace.

Balrog ends up with another sub-par record in a tournament, but yet increases his winning percentage. Things haven’t been going too well for him.

If Guile, Chun Li, Zangief, and Sagat all get picked for the next tournament, I’ll have to stop to upload FOUR match-up charts!
