Amazing Race Canada 5 Editing Analysis and Week Four Predictions

Dammit. I am in the same last minute predicament as last week.

WEEK FOUR WINNER’S EDIT PROJECTIONS (The following is the order of those who have the best chance of winning based on the edit set forth by production)

The edit continues to build as editors really overexaggerate how lose Andrea was to quitting the OutKast BOB Roadblock, and how she “broke” the camping challenge.

They also have been shown making alliances with other teams. A key to every winner’s edit is to put them at the centre of the relationships evolving throughout the season.

The motivational quotes continue and minor footage have surprisingly made it into the final cut of the episode.

The edit is slipping. Thank god.

We have had a few personal background stories from Ivana since the beginning of the season. They formed a couple of bonds with other teams (one of which is already eliminated).

We do need to learn more about Korey, though.

Considering the huge scramble to avoid being not last at the end of the previous episode, I expected Andrea & Ebonie to have a stronger presence in what may be a key moment of the season.

Sadly, they were a bit inconsequential to the whole finish of the episode. Therefore, I am dropping them a few places in the Winner’s Edit rankings. Their Quebecois alliance is keeping them above the remaining two teams.

Karen & Bert have these fun little moments every episode. However, none of it has produced meaningful story content throughout the season.

7) SAM & PAUL – 4.333 Team Average

When you have only ten teams at the start of the season, you would never ever hide your winners this much.

LEG FOUR PREDICTIONS (The following is the order I expect everyone to arrive at the next pit stop)

1) ADAM & ANDREA – 3.3333 Team Average

We finally have a true Amazing Race leg! I expect Adam & Andrea will have enough energy and drive to push through a round that will be full of culture shock.

2) KENNETH & RYAN – 4.0 Team Average

These guys have a lot of international travel under their belts. I can’t see them choking as much as they did last week at a college one of them attended for two years.

3) SAM & PAUL – 3.667 Team Average

Sam & Paul sure love being third or fourth. Very well-rounded team.

4) ZED & SHABBIR – 4.0 Team Average

They seem like they would be calm enough in a place like Beijing. Hopefully Zed is not too exhausted from the physical labour in the previous leg, and can handle the lack of air quality to survive what is perhaps the smoggiest city in the world.

5) KOREY & IVANA – 4.0 Team Average

They will be happy this is not a self-drive leg.

6) KAREN & BERT – 5.0 Team Average

I hope there are tasks where Karen can do as much math as the Asians do. Her chances are good since this leg will be in China.

However, I don’t think we will have another math challenge. Expect Karen & Bert to struggle yet again.

7) ANDREA & EBONIE – 5.33 Team Average

This is going to be hilarious. I assume this is a NEL (we have to use three in the next five rounds). They are going to be so far out of their element.

  1. May I just say what a comfort to uncover somebody who actually knows what they are
talking about on the internet. You certainly understand how
to bring an issue to light and make it important.
More people have to check this out and understand this side of your story.
I was surprised you aren’t more popular given that you surely have
    the gift.
