Twelfth Round

“A Damn Marshmellow”

8.120 Previously on SCWL. . .

– In the beginning, a four-person alliance on the Pusa tribe was formed. The Death Squad.
– Katie and Erik made up one half of the Death Squad, and Kyle and Quintin made up the other half.
– They stuck together all the way through the pre-merge phase, and gained the necessary numbers to control the post-merge phase of the game.
– Two members of UsAl and one member of Aldn have been voted out and sent to the jury.
– Marc and Majid were seen as “true” UsAl members, while Allan and Anton have been going with the most beneficial numbers.
– A wedge was driven into the Death Squad because of this, as Katie and Erik were pressured into proving their loyalty to Allan and Anton.
– When it came to vote, Majid was surprisingly spared. Instead, Allan and Anton, each with their own set of motives, convinced Katie and Erik to eliminate Quintin.
– With the Death Squad now broken, Allan, Anton, Katie, and Erik appear to be a lock for the Final Four, and Kyle is now a number up for grabs.
– How will this new alliance work together, and can Marc and Majid rely on a third miracle as they have yet to improve their position in this game?
– Seven players remain; who will be voted out tonight?

8.122 SCWL 8 Round 12 Confessionals

ALLAN

None.

ANTON

Confessional number who know?!?

So that went well and marks the first time that someone I didn’t have some sort of connection to went home. I’ll count that as a minor victory. So things are falling into place and don’t feel like noose is getting tight around my neck. Katie and Allan are going to be my keys to getting to the end.  I think if I can swing majid safety next round I have a few options and everyone will continue to be annoyed by him. Which is ideal as he will always be a target as long as he is around.

I’m happy with game right now and glad I came out of retirement. Usually flipping doesn’t end well but I think I made enough friends to not make it detrimental.

ERIK

Confessional:

Definitely the hardest vote this game for me. I really didn’t have much choice this vote. It was going to be a tie, and with all of Qs past votes, he would have been dead anyways. I needed to vote with Allan and Anton just to keep myself in their good graces.  We’ll see how the rest of the game goes but I don’t feel so confident about it.

So this is an interesting round. We are either going to have a very predictable tribal, or the 3rd blindside in a row this season. After Kyle “won” the challenge, our alliance, which includes everyone but Marc and Majid at this point, started discussing which of the two would go. I started the conversation with, well, Majid is annoying as f–k, and he is also cocky without having a reason to be. I also want to keep Marc for personal reasons.

If I need either Marc or Majid to make a move, I would rather have Marc here, because he is anti-Anton, and I haven’t talked to Majid at all, so like, f–k that. So I thought I had some good reasons to get rid of Marc. But nope, here comes Anton, wanting Marc out, thinking he is in charge, So I sit back and I’m just like, really dude, you just dictated last round that Quintin would go, now you want Marc. Do you really think you are in a position to be the shot caller? Because I don’t.

But at this point I don’t want to stir the pot, so I can let him think he is in charge so he sticks around.

Then the fun begins. Katie messages me this morning saying she wants to talk to me. I think it’s just a routine talk to make sure we’re on the same page. Nope.

She tells me that my name came up in conversation last night. WHAT.THE.F–LES.

She says she quickly vetoed the idea, but I was still not having any of that s–t, so I interrogated her until she told me. So it was Anton’s idea, and Kyle agreed to it because he’s a damn marshmellow (if you have episode titles and recaps, dibs that being the title). But once Katie and Allan said no, he backed off.

So I message Kyle after and asked him if he had anything to tell me…and he spills the beans for hours and shows me all of his conversations and apologizes and cries. WAPOW. Whipped he is.

Anyways, so now the dilemma is- do we just go with Marc, or do I take out the one person that has brought up my name since my second tribal council. Both Katie and Kyle say this vote is on me, which is exciting and scary. I worry that if we don’t get Anton this round, it could be too late, but it could be too early. It really depends on how Allan would react.

I would also like to dedicate this song to Anton

KATIE

Logan….confession. majid wanted to make me a f2 and take him and marc to the end. He wanted to throw the challenge …me to beat marc…and take him to the end. Hahaha ha. I mean it was worth a shot.

P.s, I feel like you don’t want me to win but I am going to

KYLE

• Wow what a blindside at least for me but I feel like the death squad 5 will stay intact on the next two votes then I’m either the swing or the outsider….time will tell. Poor Q

Fair enough I need an immunity win bad

• this game gets crazier and crazier every day I’m going to need a Fabio like run of immunity coming up. Please don’t use SCWL points for an immunity challenge lol

MAJID

if war countinued here

i might quit

but untill now i ll stay

MARC

None.

8.123 SCWL 8 Round 12 Tribal Council

TRIBAL COUNCIL #12

(ALLAN)-(ANTON)-(ERIK)-(KATIE)-(*KYLE*)-(MAJID)-(MARC)
XXX
(IRV)-(SHANE)-(PAUL)-(TINA)-(AJDIN)-(ANDREI)-(SUSAN)-(MATT)-(JOHN)-(IAN)-(QUINTIN)

Your questions and vote are due by 11:00pm eastern Sunday.

ALLAN,

1. There’s just seven of you left in this game. Have you noticed how much more intense the game has become over the past couple of rounds?

Well obviously it has become more intense. We are all trying to get to the end after all, lol.

2. How vulnerable do you feel this round?

I am always vunerable….especially at this point in the game.

ANTON,

1. This round there was a temptation to take ten SCWL Points. You don’t know what exactly these SCWL Points are for yet. What is your speculation as to how these SCWL Points will come into play?

Im really hoping those 10 points will get me some Xtra cheese and fixings for the nachos I won at beginning of game with my SCWL points.

2. Do you feel these ten SCWL Points will outweigh the worth of individual immunity?

And i mean at the end of the day I doubt 10 points is going to be a difference maker when i am currently sitting at 0 SCWL points but I suck at music that isn’t from the 80s so might as well take free points

ERIK,

1. There’s usually a twist like this each post-merge where you drop out of a challenge in exchange for an idol clue or some sort of reward. But never to where somebody wins by default. Is that a testament to how safe everyone feels or did everyone think “well, Kyle has this challenge in the bag”?

I know not everyone feels safe. There were lots of other factors. Challenge was posted Friday night, went into Saturday. People were busy. The challenge was very hard and time consuming. There was actually a reward for being lazy and not doing it. I know for me personally, I was trying to win, but I knew Kyle had more answers than me, so I might as well get some points out of losing.

2. Somebody who did not compete in this challenge is going to be eliminated. Do you think that person will have any sense of regret for not competing?

Again, I think everyone who dropped out knew they were going to lose, so I don’t think they will regret it, but I bet they hope there was a different challenge.

KATIE,

1. How much time do you spend  thinking about how the jury currently perceives you?

I get it Logan. They hate me. This is like the second time you have inadvertently told me that haha. No but for real…. This game is really hard because I do like everyone in the cast. I do not think about jury management much because it doesn’t matter if you don’t get to the end.

2. And what do you think their perception is of you right now?

Questions about my game play will be answered one day. Whether it be in the jury house or at the end but I’ll have explaining to do to people as will everyone else if they get that spot at the end. I don’t know what they think of me at the moment but by your questions it can’t be that great. I will be able to hear it one day!

KYLE,

1. You scored sixty-five more points than you needed to in this challenge. I’m guessing you truly felt like you needed immunity this round?

1. Everyone should feel they need immunity every round. I came to play that’s why I competed you could of offered 1,000 SCWL points to sit and I would compete. Immunity feels good and im keeping it hopefully go on a Fabio run or something that would be cool hey!

2. But now somebody else needs it. Is there anyone who surprised you in terms of deciding not to compete?

2. To each their own sit and enjoy points you may never get to spend or compete it’s an individual challenge with individual decisions that individuals chose to make individually.

MAJID,

1. Your circumstance for not competing at the moment is a bit unique. How tough is it to balance this game with what is going on in real life?

i started to do the challenge then bombs started and power i was mad lol and yes its hard to balance between both it kills me but i never give up im a fighter.

2. Five players have won immunity since the merge. Is anyone standing out as a challenge threat?

i think the challenge threat was john

MARC,

1. The last three players voted out have come from each of the three original tribes. Do you believe this is truly an individual game?

Yes, I think the tribal lines are quite blurred at this time.

2. And does it make the game much harder when there is no clear pattern as to who is being voted out?

Yes, that makes the game more unpredictable.

Okay, when you vote, please do so in the following manner:

“VOTE: (VOTE HERE)
REASON: (REASON HERE)”

e.g.

VOTE: (Logan.)
REASON: What can be said that hasn’t already been said at the previous eleven Tribal Councils? I have never liked the guy. He is always so dang bossy. Nobody likes a bossy fool.

Okay. Kyle is immune. You cannot vote for Kyle. Everybody else is fair game. Between now and 11:00pm eastern Sunday, it is time vote. Ykwac tribe, you’re up.

***

ALLAN,

VOTE: Marc
tossed this one around and around
kyle suggested Anton (not gonna happen) or erik (not ready to do that)

ANTON,

My vote this round is for Marc.
Majid will probably be more pissed about this move than you will even though you are the one going home. I think the fact that your soo quiet makes people nervous you are scheming with others.

ERIK,

Vote: Anton
Reason: You gone f—ed up, You try to tell my closest allies to vote me out? You strongly underestimate me sir. Have fun on the jury with the other people that got too cocky.

KATIE,

Vote Anton
Reason. They got the numbers. I’m voting with majority. He wanted kyle next and he was down with voting erik. Noone messes with my pusas. Even if he was gonna take me to 3 with Allan he would pick Allan over me I think so….crazy blindside. From the screen caps kyle sent me…he likes blindsides.

KYLE,

VOTE: ANTON
REASON: I was told you were going to vote me out next vote after this here’s my way of preventing that. Remember you offered me F3 and stabbed me in the back. Not the other way around!

MAJID,

VOTE:ANTON
REASON:i had enough of flipping and backstabing i need to risk a bit

MARC,

Vote: Anton
Reason: It is my only option and I don’t like him very much anyways.
I ghange my reason: I don’t like him at all

ANTON: Well played. Watch out for Erik

KYLE: 😦

KYLE: Damnit Q your jury shhh! Lol

ANTON: I’m not going to be nice like Q was… the non pusa people need to stick together, pusa will promise world but push come to shove they are only interested in saving themselves. Katie and erik are tighter than yall think. Id recommend breaking that up kyle….

KATIE: Kyle wants you to yell at him for this wink emoticon

Good game Anton I really enjoyed playing with you. Hopefully in a few days no hard feelings eh?

ANTON: Kyle is one person. When you have a final 3 with Erik and Katie and and both of them discard you after helping them gain numbers, they are ones getting yelled at.

KYLE: Damnit Q shhh!

KATIE: You had a final 3 with me and Erik? That’s the first time I’m hearing this.

KATIE: You made a final 3 with kyle too Anton don’t forget that one tho. Like let’s just be friends. We love you long time.

ANTON: I can happily post the screen shots of that here if you need a refresher katie…

ANTON: If I’m going down I’m taking people with me…. and luckily it’s my two pusa friends, Katie and Erik.

JOHN: *places hand over Quintin’s mouth to prevent more talking*

KATIE: Go ahead Anton it’s all good man. Love ya.

KATIE: I always get blamed for everything and this wasn’t even my move! Give credit where credit is due!

ANTON: #feigninginnocence # thegoat

Good luck , bitter Bob is leaving the building

IAN: *breaks John’s arm because he isn’t supposed to type a response. Realizes the cycle I just created*

ANTON: Let’s not get my words minced here remaining players… Katie is a snake and you need to watch out but the head of that snake is none other than her number 1 ally, Erik

KATIE: OH?

MARC: Thank you!

ME: Just when you think everything is going well. . .blindside.

Once again, everyone is equally competitive when it comes to Tribal Council and nobody is taking their position in this game for granted. If these three Tribal Councils are anything to judge by, we are in for a crazy finish.

With Anton’s elimination, Marc is officially the last returning player standing. Congratulations.

8.124 SCWL 8 Round 12 Blog

SITTING OUT OF THE CHALLENGE

This was the early story for the round. Everybody was becoming increasingly nervous about how SCWL Points would come into play.

So when players had to decide between SCWL Points and immunity. . .the SCWL Points seemed like the better option.

OR WAS IT BECAUSE KYLE WAS A HEAVY FAVOURITE IN THIS CHALLENGE?

Going into this immunity challenge, I had a feeling Kyle would be the person who had the best chances of winning the challenge.

People like Marc and Majid were at a disadvantage, everybody else felt relatively safe, the music videos were from a wide range of genres, and Kyle really wanted this win after Quintin was gone.

Despite all of the reassurances from his fellow Pusas and Allan that he would stay, Kyle really wanted to protect himself in this game.

MAJID’S SITUATION

This goes all the way back to round two–Majid possibly quitting the game.

Unlike seasons past when players have forfeited the season, they do it for. . .questionable reasons.

With Majid, this is not the case. He is playing this game fearing for his personal safety on a daily basis. It probably doesn’t help when he has been in the minority alliance since day one of this game. If anything, Majid willing to remain in this game demonstrates how competitive he truly is.

I honestly thought this round or the next would result in Majid quitting.

KYLE WINS. . .BY A LOT

I was a bit surprised Kyle didn’t get the Foo Fighters answer. Regardless, immunity is his. It won’t matter as Marc is about to be voted out. The alliance of five is tight.

Anton, Allan, Katie, and Erik are tight, and Kyle is isolated. Marc and Majid are out of options.

PUSA REGAINS THE UPPER HAND AND ANTON GETS CAUGHT

Somehow Katie, Kyle, and Erik all got back together. Everybody in the game knows Anton and Allan are a duo, and the three Pusas are relying on Anton and Allan to secure a majority.

Remember how I said last week that Majid and Marc are viewed as being in such an obvious minority position? Well, it still applies to this week as it is 5 vs. 2. There is still wiggle room for the majority to eat one of their own, but still keep Marc and Majid away from power.

I think everybody was keeping an eye on Anton much more than Allan. Marc and Majid were having a tough time trusting Anton, even though Anton had an intent to keep Majid alive.

Since Anton was a swing vote in the past couple of blindsides, Kyle, Katie, and Erik were talking to each other about Anton. Because Katie and Allan have had each other’s backs for a long time, Allan was spared from this.

Therefore, when approached about who his future targets would be, Anton probably had to say either Kyle or Katie to Erik, Katie or Erik to Kyle, and Kyle or Erik to Katie. Only one of these three statements can be the truthful one.

Everybody is probably doing this, but since everyone wants to confirm Anton can be trusted. . .he may have been put into a situation where he was doomed.

ERIK PULLS THE TRIGGER

Erik, who has kept himself from being directly responsible for eliminations, found himself with the power this round. UsAl and Kyle are all agreeing to eliminate Anton. I do not envy Erik’s position here. He must have known this was going to be the most important move of the game.

Would eliminating Anton mean him and Katie be in control until the end, or will he and Katie be seen as the biggest threats left in the game? If Majid and Marc are a duo, and Allan and Kyle are alone in this game. . .they’re bound to pair up in this game. Then we’re in an extremely complex situation where we have three distinct pairs to enter the final stages of the game.

ANTON’S SHOT AT REDEMPTION. . .IS OVER

I think Anton will be the first to agree with this statement: He had much more fun this game than SCWL 1.

For those of you who weren’t apart of SCWL 1 or know what happened, Anton was on one of the worst tribes in SCWL history. He lost all seven tribal immunity challenges, and was eliminated by default at the (first) Final Two TC because his tribemate held a hidden immunity idol and also fewer past votes. He was the first person to be eliminated by default, and SCWL 1 featured no true merge as it was 10-1 after Anton left.

This game, Anton only had one trip to TC pre-merge. He was in the power position of his tribe, and had connections on the other two tribes. Furthermore, he had space to properly play in the post-merge phase.

To me, Anton may have had the biggest impact on this game. He could have eliminated Quintin rather than Ian at nine, possibly have a Ian-Allan-Anton-Marc-Majid endgame.

In the end, he chose to go with the Pusas, and they burned him in this game pretty dang fast. Allan was more trusted and valued by Pusa, therefore Anton was the expendable one. I am curious if Anton views this as his biggest error in the game.

But hey, hindsight is Barbara Walters, and there is many other variables where the game could have gone differently.

I hope Anton is satisfied with how he did in this game because this was a helluva post-merge to figure out how to navigate this competitive field.

Lastly, Anton called out Erik on his way out of the game, and said to watch out for Katie as well. I thought Katie may go before Majid and Marc, and we may very well see an odd scenario where Kyle finds a way to drag Erik to the end.

8.126 Next Time on SCWL. . .
– With three consecutive blindsides in a row, everyone would be foolish to feel any sense of safety.
– Now that his best friend is out of the game, Allan must play harder than ever to secure himself a spot at the end of the game as Anton and Ian are both gone.
– The loved ones come to play in a classic SCWL challenge, including some familiar faces of seasons past.
– And a new strategy is exploited as players conspire to tilt the table for individual immunity.
– Majid faces the possibility of being ejected for inactivity as real world problems continue to grow and interfere with his participation in the game.
